|Abstract:||Intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration is one of the leading causes for low back pain involving high expenses within the health system. Therefore, new treatment modalities focus on more biological approaches in order to augment the nucleus pulposus due to stimulation of regenerative processes. Further, clinical indications require minimally invasive surgical techniques, which why the carrier systems for autologous cell material is ideally an injectable and biocompatible material. The overall objective of this study is to evaluate the suitability of a promising and novel material combination developing an alternative to current healing therapies of degenerated IVD.|
