Abstract:	Der Artikel beleuchtet aus einer methodologischen Perspektive, wie Entscheidungsprozesse im Kindesschutz ausgehandelt werden. Dabei wird Entscheiden als soziale Praxis konzipiert. Die ethnographische Studie nutzt die Theorie sozialer Praktiken und verschränkt sie mit machtanalytischen Überlegungen der Figurationssoziologie. Die Verschränkung beider Theorieperspektiven ermöglicht die Analyse und Rekonstruktion von Adressierungs-, Legitimierungs- und Vereindeutigungspraktiken, welche die Frage nach der potenziellen Fremdunterbringung wesentlich entscheiden.
