Abstract: It is generally assumed that learning from errors in the workplace is of importance for the development of apprentices‘ professional competence. Whether errors in the work process provide the opportunity to learn greatly depends on company trainers‘ reactions in the error situation. In the present context, we outline a study that will focus on trainer‘s competence in supporting learning from errors in work situations. The analyses are conducted in the domain of hotel business.
