|Abstract:||This paper describes how to accomplish HDCP 2.1 en-decryption and key exchange in an FPGA or ASIC sharing hardware and processing power with the already existing soft core processor, to avoid additional hardware. The following subjects are discussed: Introduction to HDCP, HDCP functions and their implementation in SoC, authentication and key exchange, pairing, locality check, session key exchange, the advanced encryption standard (AES). Considerations on which components are better suited to be implemented in gates or in firmware and additional discussions about the licensing and key purchase process are made.|
