| Abstract: | This paper presents a concept of multilingual communication training for students of engineering sciences. It integrates training in English as a foreign language with training in German as mother tongue in Switzerland. The writer also opens up the challenges in justifying communication training for engineering sciences. Moreover, the discussion equally covers the universal rationalisation of the need for foreign languages, something that is well known among all language experts but not so much among other academic disciplines. |
