Zusammenfassung: Introduction: Well set therapy goals promote the motivation of clients to adhere to therapy and thus reaching better outcomes. Aim: To analyse the current way of goal setting by Swiss OTs as a basis for developing an evidence-based further education course and manual for setting goals. Method: - Data: 1049 goals collected with the Goal Attainment Scale (GAS) by Swiss OTs. - Data analysis: content analysis, quantitative descriptive analysis. Results: Relationship of the goals to following aspects will be presented: ICF domains; occupation and client focus; SMART rules (i.e. goals are specific, measurable, agreed, realistic, timed). Conclusion: Special challenges for setting goals consist in integrating the occupation focus and adapting the SMART rules. There are however differences between the different areas in Switzerland and different special field in OT. These differences need to be taken account of, when developing products for supporting OTs in this challenging step of setting goals.
