The European auto industry is stable – or stagnant? In the past 25 years VW has gained and Fiat lost 10% market share; the other corporate groups have defended their market shares. Each firm establishes its market position with its own specific configuration of value offers, generated by finely-tuned internal practices. Innovations in electric cars, digitalization and autonomous driving can fit into the established value configurations. The long overdue shakeout in the market will be driven by the emerging new value dimension – Deep-Connect – in the form of all-embracing mobility solutions. The new solutions can only be generated by corresponding new management practices and organizational behaviors. The comprehensive managerial framework of 5-Dimensional Value gives structured insights into strategically managing value for customers, personnel, business partners and investors. Understanding these key drivers is the basis to forecast the future of the six firms and the European auto market. More importantly, 5-D Value links the internal and external parameters which any business needs to consider when generating value in its operations and managing value on the market. Thus the insights in the book can be applied to improve value management at all firms, from internet start-ups to mature brick-and-mortar production companies.de_CH
