Abstract: This chapter summarises the past and present of the Lodz-Maastricht and Lodz-ZHAW Duo Colloquia on Translation and Meaning through the lens of its latest iteration on context, contexts and contextuality in translation and interpreting. It considers the newest developments in the language industry and the impact that this is having on the multifarious professions in its scope. It serves to introduce the broad range of papers selected for the volume, from literary translation to speech-enabled PEMT, from NMT to game localization, from church interpreting practices to translation quality assessment, reflecting the rich diversity of the language industry and those working within it.
