Abstract: | This paper is concerned with the functions of sign language (SL) and complementary supportive measures at university level. It aims at providing insights into inclusive teaching and learning environments at tertiary level by exploring how deaf and hard-of-hearing/hearing-impaired (DHH) students experience their learning conditions and teaching environments in Swiss Higher Education. A focus is on data drawn from in-depth interviews with current and former DHH students in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, building on results from a Swiss-wide survey conducted in 2018 (Hohenstein and Zavgorodnia 2019; Hohenstein et al. 2018; Rodríguez et al. 2018). |
