dc.description.abstractMorphological computation and control are concepts that play some role in robotics. The basic idea is given by the observation that the physical dynamics of a system can be directly employed for control purposes. Quite well established in robotics (embodied intelligence), the concept is of broader generality. The talk presents the transfer of the idea to chemical, spatially structured systems, medical applications, and the evolution of digital circuitry. Besides direct scientific results, the talk aspires to discuss the various types of interplay between applied and basic sciences and how a bi-directional communication between the two areas can be of profit for both sides.de_CH
