Background: Tendinopathy is a pathology, often seen on the Achilles tendon and Patellar tendon of athletes. Currently there are many possible ways to treat it, there are conservative treatments, autologous blood therapies and even surgeries. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to compare isometric, isotonic, heavy slow re-sistance and eccentric treatment programs to evaluate which is most the effective in athletes with Patellar or Achilles tendinopathy. These treatment programs will be evaluated based on their effects on pain and function; NRS/VAS for pain and the Victorian Institute of Sport Assessment’s (VISA) questionnaire for function. Method: To find suitable studies the databases CINAHL, Medline and PubMED were used. For analysing the studies, that were found, AICA was used. For the va-lidity the PEDro-scale. Main Results: Six studies were found that passed the inclusion and exclusion crite-ria. The treatment programs, of all six studies, showed significant improvements in pain and function. There were no significant differences between the various treat-ment programs in comparison to one another. Conclusion: There is still a lot of research needed on this topic. There is a need for studies with more subjects, and for studies that aim to understand the causes of the pathology. Due to the limited studies available for review, the results of this thesis should be looked at critically.
