The cross border region Lake Constance is known as a popular leisure and tourism destination. Supraregionally famous for its diverse natural landscape, the potentials of the regions broad cultural offer for the public image are currently not fully unlocked. This project aims to establish a basis for the development of sustainable digital communication strategies for the regional arts sector. In an online survey, cultural providers were interviewed amongst other topics regarding their structure and characteristics, target groups, catchment areas, features and digitization degree of their communication strategy or current cooperation with other suppliers and future plans concerning their digital cultural communication. The analysis of around 230 interviewees has shown that website and social media have prevailed alongside the print media, but that there are still potentials in the management and the targeted marketing of cultural offers. By means of this quantitative analysis of strategies, structure and practices of digital communication in the arts sector a digitization index was developed. This digitization index lays the foundation for further analysis of this dataset.de_CH
