Abstract: The article describes a research project funded by COST Switzerland that explores different disciplinary and language-related writing cultures in Switzerland. The Student Writing Competence Questionnaire and the Faculty Writing Appreciation Questionnaire are presented along with the research strategy followed. First results from test runs of the questionnaires are given.
