Zusammenfassung: This article delivers an introduction to the writing/reading center model and its implementation in primary and secondary education in Germany. Comparing the German model with the US writing center model for high schools, the article points out new aspects for sustainable writing pedagogy as part of school development which can be useful on both sides of the Atlantic.
