|Abstract:||International competitiveness is an issue of the highest importance in a nation like Switzerland. The country has population smaller than the city of New York, and therefore a small domestic market, and has a poor endowment of natural resources. As a result, its prosperity depends to a large extent on its industries' performance in foreign markets. In light of the fundamental geopolitical and economic change in the world particularly the further development of European Integration, Switzerland is taking steps to revitalize its international competitiveness.|
