A proof of concept for a piezoelectric energy harvesting system based on synchronized switch harvesting on inductor (SSHI) is discussed in this paper. The objective of this research was a comparison of a simulation and an experimental setup of a functioning SSHI circuit. In addition, the SSHI method was compared with a standard energy harvesting circuit (SEH). With the approach of SSHI it is possible to enhance the maximum output power of a piezoelectric bimorph (compared to the SEH method). A simulation of both, a SSHI and a SEH circuit were done as well as an experimental set-up to compare the results.de_CH
