| Abstract: | This article presents the results of a nationwide survey of scientific staff on start-up activities at the seven public universities of applied sciences in Switzerland. The survey results from 2019 show a high level of start-up experience among employees in many of the departments represented at the universities of applied sciences. However, the low degree of visibility that start-ups have had within universities of applied sciences is also evident. Based on these findings, recommendations focus on how universities of applied sciences can better exploit their start-up potential in addition to the classical performance mandates of teaching and research. |
