dc.description.abstract | Process automation systems are used to control a process such as chemical, steel, oil refineries, petrochemical, paper, or pulp factories. Such systems consist of many individual stations, producing traffic of varying priorities and are spread over a large geographical area. In the presence of so many traffic sources, congestion is inevitable. IEEE Std 802.3cg defines 10BASE-T1L to directly address the distances involved in process automation systems while preemption provides a means to address congestion by giving high priority traffic. | de_CH |
