Abstract:	Die Globalisierung ist eine Realität, auch im Gesundheitswesen. Das Jahr 2020 wurde von der Weltgesundheitsorganisaion zum Internationalen Jahr der Pflegefachpersonen und Hebammen erklärt. Dieser Artikel soll aufzeigen, was Globalisierung und Internationalisierung beinhalten und wie sie das schweizerische Gesundheitspersonal und die Hebammen direkt tangieren. Arbeiten im globalen Umfeld ist anspruchsvoll, daher werden auch einige Aspekte zur interkulturellen Kompetenz aufgezeigt.
