Zusammenfassung: | In the field of fire and explosion protection the assessment of individual risks often bases on heuristics or indexing methods because a full-scale probabilistic approach is infeasible in many cases for en-terprises. On the other hand, this established procedure undermines efforts of Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) to assess frequencies of undesired events and their consequences as accurately as possible. The paper outlines an approach to objectify the process of a QRA audit. Based on an online search, the available QRA and indexing tools are characterized. The combination of the indexing method and semi-quantitative approaches allows to carry out an audit, which is based on weighting procedures utilizable for risk rating and benchmarking for individual risk quantification. Regarding this, audits are facilitated and the quality of the outcome increases. The approach is exemplified by a prototype tool (MS EXCEL). The paper concludes with outlining the benefits and constraints of QRA audit tools. |
